This book provides a systematic reformulation of the politics of professional practice in the arena of city planning, public policy making, and public administration and management. It has immediate implications for the study of administration and management and for students of administration and planning in schools of social work, education, and public health. paid a lot for a little

I ordered a new book and this one came with the spine or the pages ripped from the hard cover. Paid 120 for a book that looks like it was carried around in a back pack by a 5 year old all year. Heres what to take from this review, Spend a couple of extra bucks and buy it brand new from another retailer

Great Read!

This did not follow the usual cliché college romance books, which is refreshing. In the beginning, Drew was a tough pill to swallow. I didn’t fall in love with him, but I liked him at the end. I loved that he was honest and did not beat around the bush, but at the same time, I did not fully like him (very very rare for me not to fully love the H). There was just something about him that turned me off; maybe it was how forceful he was with Brooke in the beginning or how cold he was throughout the book.

Brooke – was just a breath of fresh air. It’s refreshing to read about a female lead who is not an idiot, who stands her ground, and does not let her past control her life. Brooke was sweet (too sweet at times) and always made sure to see a person in a positive light. I understand why she was the way she was due to her past, but again she didn’t let that rule her life. I had so much respect for her for standing her ground with Drew. She made him wait and was honest with what she wanted from him. She took the time to hear a person out and not jump to conclusions. I do wish that she was a little more mean, though.

The storyline was great until towards the end, which was a head scratcher. I literally went ummmmm…. WHAT JUST HAPPENED! It didn’t flow with the story and London and Coach Kelley made no sense and TJ and Scott became two completely different characters at the end. I had my suspicions about Scott wanting more from Brooke, but his connection with London and Coach was unclear. I am still confused about TJ character. He was the typical college student then he had a secret, which was interesting, but then it went downhill from there. Rose, was an idiot through and through. She was likeable in the beginning, then became annoying in the middle of the book, and then unlikeable at the end. Tatum, I knew she would be a problem and I understood why Drew acted the way he did with her. I respected him for trying to be cordial with Tatum but her character was fake from the beginning. I am still confused about her character because Drew indicated that she had “problems” but it was never known what her problem was. I thought she was bipolar of something. Again, I felt like I was reading about different characters from start to finish.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. Drew and Brooke was a perfect combo – he was too mean and she was too nice and they even eachother out. I would like more from them and to get a closure to their HEA. ….. hint hint.

Yeah....no. Just no.

I seriously don't get this. I don't understand how this book is getting such high ratings. There was literally only one good thing about this book, and that's the writing. I will happily admit that Ashley Claudy is a good writer and is able to write in such a seamless way that everything kinda flowed. There were no awkward moments of whatnot.

But damn, the story was just so over the top. Brook is totally naive to the point that it was irritating. Andrew acted like he was the best thing in the world and that the universe should bow down before him. Luke, I seriously don't even get this guy. Rose was a big b*tch from start to finish and I don't get why on earth Brook put up with that. Yeah, I get you're a nice innocent the-glass-is-half-full kinda girl, but seriously Brook, stand up for yourself. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, was completely whack in this book. It was sooo over the top. Like soap-opera over the top.

I don't even know what else to say about this. But yeah...not my cup of tea. Or coffee.

Do yourself a favor and read this book!

My lungs just about burst from holding my breath for so long during those last chapters. Intense! I won't review the secret plot twists because experiencing them for yourself, going in blind is what makes the ride that much more intense. Once I got going it was impossible to put down. I have so much to say about Drew but it would borderline spoilers so you may want to stop now if you don't want any hints. I think I read a review about someone not liking his character, something about being a jerk. But the way the story unfolds I have to say he reminds me of a lot of guys today, he's realistic. A guy who's all about getting physical and not wanting to dig into feelings or labels. Guys who don't call until they want to see you or just expect to see you around at parties, never making plans, living in the moment. The progression of their relationship was totally believable. He wants her physically, he's pretty determined and handsy with how seductive he is (again, believable) but he's also willing to not push too far & even jump through hoops to get there. He doesn't change overnight, she practically has to teach him how to be in a relationship & it's like his feelings sort of sneak up on him, he starts to really care about her. Personally, I love drew. I think he's dreamy. And I think you'll love this story too.

I Knew It But Didn't Do It!

I knew all of this information! Nothing new here! But, I wasn't doing it. What good is knowing if you don't implement it. The author brought home how important the other 95% of your day is. I am inspired to do better! Everything you think and feel is important. Read it even if you think you know it, like I did.

The Missing Piece

I already began to use the 95-5 code from the time I started reading the book. I have some rituals, meditations and journaling that I do pretty regularly .Before reading this book, I used a lot of avoidance. Due to my belief that everything had to be just right in the day's order to begin a project or even just to practice music. I have recognized now that exposing this big lie to myself puts me on the road to more accomplishments. It is so simple but sometimes I have to hear something explained a certain way to have that a-ha moment!
